For my pre-mill, dispensationalist friends:
In Matthew 24:36-42 Jesus says that His return will be like the days of Noah. People were eating and drinking, and being given in marriage, but the flood came and “took them all away”. Similarly, when Christ returns, “There shall be two men in the field; one is taken, and the other is left.” The point of this statement is that the man “taken” is “taken” by something like the flood, i.e. the judgment. You do not want to be the man taken, you want to be the man left! ‘Left Behind’ got it all wrong.
